Shop the Scroll! Thrifting My Pinterest Board Saves
Deconstructing trending outfits with secondhand swaps for <$100 (for the most part)
This is admittedly a spite post.
Guys, I think we’ve lost the plot on how much a piece of (non-artisan/designer) clothing should cost. No basic tank top is worth spending $100 on—I don’t care if its fibers are grown on a planet from another solar system hand-plucked by a handsome prince. Like, that is actually insane. Invest that money instead, ladies! Or donate to a dog rescue! And then get that tax deduction!
Anyway, as the result of my current insert-trendy-clothing-brand-here rage, I wanted to share some outfit inspo I’ve recently saved on my “Style 💖” (✌️😗) Pinterest board with some more affordable, secondhand replacements.
A Depop-oriented “get the look for less,” if you will.
Best of all, I made sure the entire outfit doesn’t stray far from $100 total, so you can save clothing from the landfill while also being cost-efficient (although I didn’t consider shipping, I’m just now realizing that, so sorry but yeah just keep that in mind, thx).
I also looked for outfits that included basic pieces that most people may already have in their closet: a red cardigan, for example, or a plain white or graphic T-shirt, or blue jean shorts—so the total may end up being even less.
You could honestly find similar pieces for most of these at your local thrift store as well. On that note, is there anything specific you’ve been keeping your eye out for? Let me know in the comments!
