Pocket-Sized Pleasantries: April 2025
lots of flowers, baseball, thrifting, and a Hudson Valley day trip

the coming and (already) going of tulips in the conservatory garden in central park
being warm enough to buy a $4 soft serve with chocolate sprinkles from the Mister Softee truck
a train ride to beacon to hit up the flea market, then closing out the day with wine and an amazing truffle caesar salad

the late afternoon beams of sunlight dancing in the living room
pay day date nights with cody, this time at a dimly lit south african wine bar
gab sessions at my monthly friend group dinner, usually accompanied by wine and restaurants I have no business dining at *in the best way

training for the brooklyn half and falling in love with running again
thrifting in bushwick with my nyc little sis (and then again with my husband)
the return of wisteria—beautiful, delicate, spreading like wildfire on the pergola in the italian conservatory garden

the weight of cleo napping beside me, feeling her tiny soft heart beats and the tides of her breath against my legs
ending up in a private suite at the yankees game — the smell of hot dogs, beer, and fries wafting through the stadium
having places to go, friends to see, and work to get done (maybe not so much the last one)

and what i’m looking forward to in may:
listing my entire vintage inventory (stay tuned…)
separate weekend visits from a couple of friends and my mom
eating a hot dog (or two) on the coney island boardwalk immediately after finishing the brooklyn half
looking at more hudson valley apartments that we can hopefully soon call home
