The Vintage Encyclopedia
a non-exhaustive list of where to buy vintage and secondhand clothing on miss internet
It’s no secret that shopping for vintage or thrifting IRL is usually cheaper—and definitely more rewarding. No greater thrill exists than finding a needle-in-a-haystack gem after hours of scavenging through typically unwashed clothing racks to the beats of ‘00s pop music (better yet, said gem has the right color sticker that entitles it to a 50% discount). That’s our girl destiny hard at work.
However, buying vintage or thrifting online can too be a thrilling experience, if you know where to look. The internet can be a black hole, especially when you’re blindly scrolling on Etsy, Depop, and eBay. I was introduced to most of the vintage shops and resellers I follow just because I happened to stumble upon them via my Instagram feed, but it’s so hard to find new online vintage places if you’re purposely seeking them out. So after a lifetime of thrift shopping, a decade of that being online, I’m spilling a list of resellers with unique stock (who admiringly also don’t gouge prices).
I plan to update this list regularly as I discover more—along with passing on knowledge to my readers, I also want to use this platform to showcase other resellers and shops worth supporting. If there are any places or people you think should be included, please share in the comments!
