My Midcentury Modern Upstate Dream House 🌲
How I would style my (nonexistent) Hudson Valley home if I had unlimited money — with a little help from my titular years-old Pinterest board
perhaps it’s that we just bought you’ve got mail on dvd (yes, you read that right) and i’m suddenly re-inspired by ‘90s norah ephron interiors, or i’m just gagging to decorate a house of my own. either way, i feel compelled to share what i’ve been curating for nearly half a decade now. it’s perhaps my most prized pinterest board — aptly labeled “upstate home 🌲.”
while we do plan to move from the city to the hudson valley in the next year or two, we have no intention of buying a house that soon. despite that fact, it’s my number one hyperfixation at the moment. i look at houses and apartments on zillow, i scroll through upstate instagram accounts, i plan my next day trip to beacon, hudson, woodstock, kingston, et al.
anyway, one can imagine the time i’ve put into strategizing everything about my dream home: tonal palettes, pops of red, striped wallpaper and accent pillows, riviera-inspired sun loungers, and more than enough bookshelves. and although no one asked (or cares!), i feel i owe it to myself to bring my vision to life, one way or another.
welcome to my mid-century modern dreamhouse, where there’s abundance of trees, art, and books, and not a greige wall in sight.
